Isha Harris began her professional artistic journey while living in the South Atlantic on St Helena Island. After collaborating in a group exhibition at St Helena Museum in 2016 she decided to embrace her lifelong passion of story-telling through visual art. Since then, she has participated in a number of collaborative projects, had solo exhibitions, painted murals and had her work bought and hung on walls from as far as Australia to Canada. Her work has been commissioned by various charities and private collectors.
Born in Lima Peru, but brought up in England, Isha Harris went on to study at St Andrews University before moving to London and getting an MA at Goldsmiths, University of London 2009. Her work is inspired by her time in England, Mexico, Peru, Italy, Canada and now Scotland.
Unlike many of her contemporaries, Isha Harris is primarily self-taught and has her own approach to painting and illustrating. At the root of her painting, photography and prints, is story-telling. She enjoys experimenting and learning new and interesting techniques, which further deepens her enjoyment of creating visual art. She believes that inspiration can be found wherever she is.
